Give Hackers the Slip

Give Hackers the Slip

Every day, I hear questions about cybersecurity:

  • Can hackers really get into my computer within a short period of time without having my password?
  • What type of information can hackers steal from a PC or digital device?
  • How will I know if a hacker’s been accessing the information on my computer?
  • What are some clues that my database isn’t secure?

Perhaps the most important question that clients should be asking is this: Is there a way to truly protect yourself and your clients from cybercriminals?

Our team recently had an opportunity to speak with the Rhode Island Society of CPAs, where we walked through the steps that a hacker takes when attacking a business or high net worth individual.

This presentation offered accounting professionals a glimpse into the mind and strategies of hackers as they compromise your security and access information on your computer.

Businesses have good reason to be concerned — more than $17,000 is lost every minute to phishing attacks alone. While patches and upgrades to security software can help reduce the possibility of an attack, they certainly can’t eliminate it.

It’s extremely important to ensure that we provide a proactive cybersecurity response so we can quickly remediate any breach for our clients. Having a successful layered security solution requires a true partnership between organizations. This is why we ask our clients to make a commitment to support ongoing training, secure data structures and implement aggressive password strategies to ward off future attacks.

Our strategy for protection includes a layered approach to protecting your digital identity both personally and professionally. We have years of experience helping CPAs and other financial professionals protect their firms — and their clients.

For the past 24 years, my team and I have been protecting companies from the real and present danger associated with hackers. Contact your TAG Team at 401-228-6400 to see how an adaptive and innovative approach to IT and information security can help improve operations for your business.
